Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer: Spontaneous Escapes for October 2026 | Prince of Travel

Singapore Airlines has released its latest KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes promotion, offering a 30% discount on award bookings on select Singapore Airlines flights worldwide, along with a parallel list of Scoot routes at a 15% discount.

As with previous editions, the savings apply to one-way Saver-level award tickets when booked directly with KrisFlyer miles. October is a quieter month for long-haul premium cabins, but it puts a blackout-free Seattle flight on the economy chart, which is the closest this promotion has come to Canada in a while.

To take advantage of this discount, book using KrisFlyer miles by September 30, 2026, for travel between October 1–31, 2026.

Bali stays on the business class chart at 15,400 miles, though it picks up end-of-month blackouts this time, while Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City are the blackout-free business class picks.

What Are Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes?

KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes are promotional discounts on Singapore Airlines and Scoot flights that offer reduced KrisFlyer redemptions on select routes. The class of service and destinations available through the promotion differ each time and are subject to a number of conditions.

You can book Singapore Airlines flights at a 30% discount, and Scoot flights at a 15% discount, until September 30, 2026, for travel between October 1–31, 2026.

Tickets must be issued between September 15 and September 30, 2026.

As always, blackout dates may apply depending on the route.

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer: Spontaneous Escapes for October 2026 | Prince of Travel

Spontaneous Escapes are valid for redemptions on Singapore Airlines flights booked through singaporeair.com or through the SingaporeAir app. Scoot redemptions must be booked through flyscoot.com or the Scoot app.

The discounts aren’t applicable to Singapore Airlines flights through other loyalty programs, such as Aeroplan, or with codeshare flights through KrisFlyer.

Seats with promotional pricing are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Spontaneous Escapes can’t be changed or cancelled once booked, so you’ll want to be sure that you’re able to travel on the ticket once it’s confirmed.

Lastly, Spontaneous Escapes are valid on one-way and round-trip bookings. No stopovers are permitted, and waitlist redemptions aren’t allowed.

The full list of terms and conditions may be found on the KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes website.

KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes for October 2026

This month’s Spontaneous Escapes promotion trims the long-haul list. Business class stays regional, premium economy keeps Europe and New York but loses the US west coast, and the economy chart shrinks its American presence to a single Seattle flight.

For the Singapore Airlines routes on offer, you can score a 30% discount on KrisFlyer redemptions in economy, premium economy, or business class, depending on the destination.

The full list of destinations can be found on the KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes website, but here are some highlights of what’s possible this time around.

In many cases, the deals are linked to specific flight numbers or directions of travel, and may be subject to blackout dates, so you’ll want to give the list a close read if you’re planning on taking advantage of the promotion.

Business Class Highlights

Business class is regional again in October. Bali, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Surabaya hold at 15,400 miles, Beijing and Shanghai join at the top of the regional chart, and Cairns is once again the only Australian option, this time on the return to Singapore only.

Singapore (SIN) to Denpasar (DPS) – 15,400 miles

Bali stays at 15,400 miles in both directions, but it no longer has September’s clean calendar. The outbound is blacked out on October 1 and from October 28 to 30, and the return from October 27 to 31, so this is a deal for the first three weeks of the month.

Singapore (SIN) to Jakarta (CGK), Kuala Lumpur (KUL), and Surabaya (SUB) – 15,400 miles

Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Surabaya share Bali’s 15,400-mile price. Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur are only blocked during the first five days of October, which makes them the easiest of the group to plan around, while Surabaya’s blackouts are scattered through the first half of the month.

Singapore (SIN) to Southeast Asia – 17,500 miles

Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Manila, and Phuket all price at 17,500 miles in business class, with Hanoi available on the return to Singapore. Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City have no blackout dates in either direction, which makes them the cleanest business class deals of the month, while Phuket’s outbound is blocked on more than a dozen dates.

Singapore to Bangkok business class Promo award pricing at 17,500 KrisFlyer miles on Singapore Airlines flight SQ706
Singapore to Bangkok on SQ706 prices at 17,500 miles in business class under the Promo column, against 25,000 miles at the regular Saver rate.

Singapore (SIN) to Hangzhou (HGH) – 24,850 miles

Hangzhou is available in both directions at 24,850 miles, but the outbound is blacked out from October 3 to 19 and again on October 23. That leaves the first two days of the month and the final week as the workable windows.

Singapore (SIN) to the Indian Subcontinent – 31,500 miles

Chennai, Colombo, and Dhaka are available in both directions at 31,500 miles, with Ahmedabad on the return to Singapore. Colombo and Dhaka have no blackout dates either way, while Delhi and Mumbai, which joined the business class chart in September, drop off it this month.

Beijing Daxing (PKX) and Shanghai (PVG) to Singapore (SIN) – 31,500 miles

China makes its way onto the business class chart, but only on the return to Singapore. Both Beijing Daxing and Shanghai are blacked out from October 16 to 31, and Daxing is also blocked from October 1 to 3, so the usable window is roughly the first half of the month.

Cairns (CNS) to Singapore (SIN) – 50,400 miles

Cairns remains the only long-haul Australian route in business class at 50,400 miles, but the outbound from Singapore has disappeared this month. The return to Singapore is blacked out only on October 14 to 16 and October 30.

Premium Economy Highlights

Premium economy keeps Europe, South Africa, and New York on the chart, but the Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Los Angeles to Tokyo deals from September are all gone. Manchester and Delhi are the new additions.

Singapore (SIN) to Hong Kong (HKG) – 19,600 miles

Hong Kong is the lowest-priced premium economy option at 19,600 miles in both directions. The outbound is blocked on October 7 and October 11 to 12, and the return from October 23 to 25.

Singapore (SIN) to Beijing (PEK), Shanghai (PVG), Mumbai (BOM), and Delhi (DEL) – 25,200 miles

Beijing, Shanghai, Mumbai, and Delhi all price at 25,200 miles in premium economy, and all four are available in both directions this month. Mumbai’s return to Singapore is blocked only on October 1, which makes it the most flexible of the group.

Singapore (SIN) to Johannesburg (JNB) – 36,050 miles

Johannesburg is available on the outbound from Singapore at 36,050 miles, the same direction as last month. Blackouts are limited to October 2 to 3, October 12, and October 23.

Frankfurt (FRA) to New York – 39,900 miles

Singapore Airlines’ transatlantic fifth-freedom route stays on the premium economy chart at 39,900 miles in both directions, with blackouts only in the first week of October. Unlike September, there’s no economy version of this deal, so premium economy is now the only way to fly it on a discount.

Singapore (SIN) to Europe – 52,150 miles

Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London Heathrow and Gatwick, Manchester, Milan, and Paris are all available on the outbound from Singapore at 52,150 miles. Frankfurt has no blackout dates at all, Paris is blocked on just two, and Manchester is new to the chart, though the returns to Singapore don’t appear this month.

Singapore (SIN) to New York (JFK) – 59,150 miles

New York prices at 59,150 miles on the outbound only this month, on the nonstop SQ24. It’s blacked out on October 2 to 3 and October 10 to 12, and the return direction that was blackout-free in September isn’t on the chart.

Singapore to New York premium economy Promo award pricing at 59,150 KrisFlyer miles on Singapore Airlines flight SQ24
The nonstop SQ24 to New York shows 59,150 miles in premium economy under the Promo column, well below the 84,500-mile Saver rate.

Economy Highlights

Economy carries the one deal that matters most for Canadian readers. Singapore to Seattle is available at 30,800 miles with no blackout dates, while Frankfurt to New York and Perth both drop off the chart, and the big Australian cities appear only on the return to Singapore.

Singapore (SIN) to Brunei (BWN) and nearby gateways – 5,600 miles

Brunei, Kuala Lumpur, and Penang are available at 5,600 miles in both directions, with Bali and Medan on the outbound. Brunei is blocked on a single date in each direction, while the rest carry short blackouts in the first week of October.

Singapore (SIN) to Southeast Asia – 9,100 miles

Bangkok, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Manila, Phnom Penh, Phuket, and Siem Reap all price at 9,100 miles, with Hanoi on the return only. Ho Chi Minh City is blackout-free in both directions, and the outbounds to Bangkok, Phuket, and Siem Reap have no blackout dates either.

Singapore (SIN) to Greater China – 10,850 miles

Hangzhou, Hong Kong, Taipei, and Xiamen are available in both directions at 10,850 miles, with Chengdu, Chongqing, and Shenzhen on the return to Singapore. Guangzhou drops off this month, and the blackouts cluster around China’s Golden Week holiday at the start of October, so the back half of the month is easier.

Singapore (SIN) to Beijing (PEK, PKX) and Shanghai (PVG) – 14,350 miles

Beijing Daxing and Shanghai are available in both directions at 14,350 miles, with Beijing Capital on the return. Shanghai’s return to Singapore is blocked for the entire second half of the month, so the outbound is the better direction to plan around.

Singapore (SIN) to the Indian Subcontinent – 13,300 miles

Colombo and Dhaka are available in both directions at 13,300 miles with no blackout dates either way, and the Maldives joins the chart through Male in both directions. Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Mumbai are on the return to Singapore, though Delhi is blocked through October 17.

Singapore (SIN) to Australia – from 14,350 miles

Darwin is the cheapest Australian gateway at 14,350 miles on the outbound, blacked out through October 15. Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, and Sydney price at 20,300 miles, but only on the return to Singapore this month, and Perth doesn’t appear at all.

Singapore (SIN) to Europe – 30,800 miles

Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London Heathrow and Gatwick, Milan, and Paris are all available at 30,800 miles on the outbound from Singapore. Amsterdam is only blocked from October 23 to 31, and most of the others have their blackouts bunched around the first weekend of the month.

Singapore (SIN) to Seattle (SEA) – 30,800 miles

This is the headline deal for October. Singapore Airlines’ nonstop SQ28 to Seattle is available at 30,800 miles in economy with no blackout dates, and it’s the only US route on the chart outside of New York. For anyone positioning from Vancouver, Seattle is a short drive or train ride away, which makes this the most Canadian-friendly Spontaneous Escape in months. The return to Singapore isn’t on the chart, so you’ll need to price the way back separately. Promo seats also aren’t loaded on every date, so if your first pick comes up at the Saver or Advantage rate, shift by a day or two.

Singapore to Seattle economy Promo award pricing at 30,800 KrisFlyer miles on Singapore Airlines flight SQ28
Singapore to Seattle on SQ28 prices at 30,800 miles in economy under the Promo column, against 44,000 miles at the regular Saver rate. Promo seats show on most, but not all, October dates.

Scoot Spontaneous Escapes

Scoot, Singapore Airlines’ low-cost sister airline, runs its own parallel Spontaneous Escapes promotion, with a 15% discount on Saver-level KrisFlyer redemptions across a rotating list of short- and mid-haul routes. The booking and travel windows match the main promotion. Book by September 30, 2026, for travel between October 1–31, 2026.

Scoot redemptions are booked through flyscoot.com or the Scoot app, rather than the Singapore Airlines website. You can find the full list of discounted Scoot routes and conditions on the Scoot Spontaneous Escapes page, and we covered Scoot’s addition to the promotion in more detail when it joined the program earlier this year.

Scoot Highlights

The Scoot chart changes character in October. Japan, Korea, and Sydney all drop off, while Bali, Krabi, Koh Samui, Taipei, India, and even Athens and Vienna make an appearance.

Singapore (SIN) to Malaysia – 1,275 miles

Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, Penang, Kuantan, Ipoh, Malacca, and Kota Bharu are the lowest-priced Scoot deals at 1,275 miles, and only Kuala Lumpur carries a blackout, from October 1 to 4. Kuching is available on the outbound at 1,700 miles with no blackout dates.

Singapore (SIN) to Phuket (HKT) and Krabi (KBV) – 2,125 miles

Thailand’s beach airports are the standout Scoot value this month. Krabi is blackout-free in both directions at 2,125 miles, while Phuket has short blackouts in the first half of October. Belitung, Pekanbaru, and Kertajati in Indonesia price the same, and Belitung is no longer blocked for most of the month as it was in September.

Singapore (SIN) to Indonesia – 3,825 miles

Bali joins the Scoot chart at 3,825 miles on flights TR280, TR282, and TR346, though the return to Singapore is blocked through October 14. Palembang, Semarang, Medan, Yogyakarta, Pontianak, and Balikpapan are also available in both directions, with Palembang and Semarang free of blackout dates either way.

Singapore (SIN) to Nha Trang (CXR) and Davao (DVO) – 5,100 miles

Nha Trang and Davao return for a second month at 5,100 miles, and neither has a single blackout date. Nha Trang is available in both directions, while Davao remains outbound only.

Singapore (SIN) to Taipei (TPE), Hong Kong (HKG), Macau (MFM), and China – from 5,525 miles

Taipei is new on the return to Singapore at 5,525 miles on three flight numbers. Hong Kong’s outbound is blacked out through October 26, so the return is the usable direction, while Macau is easier both ways. Nanning, Guangzhou, and Haikou price at 5,525 miles with long Golden Week blackouts, and a list of 13 mainland cities prices at 10,200 miles, of which Guiyang is the only one with no blackout dates in either direction.

Singapore (SIN) to India – 6,800 miles

India joins the Scoot chart this month. Amritsar is available on the return to Singapore at 6,800 miles with no blackout dates, while Thiruvananthapuram is available both ways with a blackout in the third week of October.

Singapore (SIN) to Chiang Mai (CNX), Chiang Rai (CEI), and Koh Samui (USM) – 8,925 miles

Northern Thailand returns at 8,925 miles, and Koh Samui joins it at the same price. All three are available in both directions with no blackout dates, which makes this the easiest group on the entire Scoot chart to plan around.

Singapore (SIN) to Melbourne (MEL) – 10,625 miles

Melbourne is the only Australian route on the Scoot chart this month, on TR38 outbound and TR59 back. The blackouts are heavy, with the outbound blocked through October 21 and the return blocked from October 1 to 12 and again from October 24, so the return only works between October 13 and 23.

Singapore (SIN) to Athens (ATH) and Vienna (VIE) – 20,400 miles

Scoot’s long-haul flights to Europe appear at 20,400 miles on the outbound from Singapore. Athens is blocked through October 11, and Vienna is also blocked from October 24 to 31. That’s 10,400 fewer miles than Singapore Airlines charges for its own economy deals to Europe this month, in exchange for Scoot’s no-frills Boeing 787 economy and paid add-ons for bags and meals.

There’s no registration required for this promotion, and you simply complete an award booking through the Singapore Airlines website as you normally would. Just sign in to your account, and make sure to select “Redeem miles” before you begin your search.

You’ll need to keep an eye out for flights that price out according to the Spontaneous Escapes charts, as there is limited availability with the discount. It’s pretty easy to spot, though, as the word “Promo” is clearly displayed in the results.

Spotting the deals is easy, since the lowest prices for each day appear in week-long chunks at the top of the search results, but certain routes can be harder to find.

How to Earn Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Miles

As always, you can transfer Marriott Bonvoy points to KrisFlyer miles at the optimal ratio of 60,000 points = 25,000 miles. Otherwise, you’ll have to look south of the border to US-issued credit cards to earn KrisFlyer miles.

Luckily, KrisFlyer is a transfer partner of all major US banks at a 1:1 ratio, including American Express US Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Capital One Miles.

Therefore, a redemption through KrisFlyer should be well within the reach of anyone with access to the lucrative US credit card scene, or with a healthy balance in their Marriott Bonvoy account.

Conclusion

October’s Spontaneous Escapes are lighter on long-haul premium cabins than September’s, but the economy chart makes up for it with a blackout-free Singapore to Seattle flight at 30,800 miles. If you’ve been waiting for a Spontaneous Escape that ends somewhere near home, this is it.

In business class, Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City at 17,500 miles are the easiest deals to use, while Bali at 15,400 miles works for the first three weeks of the month. On Scoot, Krabi at 2,125 miles and the Athens and Vienna flights at 20,400 miles are the ones worth a look. If any of these fit your October plans, book by September 30 before the limited promotional seats disappear.

And remember the golden rule. Earn and burn, don’t hoard miles longer than necessary, diversify with flexible currencies, and be ready to pounce when space appears. Devaluations can happen at any time.
