Tucked into the West Hills, the Portland Japanese Garden feels like stepping into another world. It’s quiet, intentional, and incredibly calming, especially on a misty morning.

On clear days, you’ll even catch views of Mount Hood in the distance.

Tip: Book timed tickets in advance. It’s one of the most popular attractions in Portland for a reason.

Watch Sunset at Portland City Grill

For one of the best views in Portland, head up to the 30th floor of Portland City Grill. The panoramic skyline views over the Willamette River make it one of the most memorable sunset spots in the city.

Located in the Columbia River Gorge, this dramatic two-tier waterfall is only about 30 minutes from Portland and is especially beautiful early in the morning before crowds arrive.
