I don’t need to worry about being mugged or pickpocketed – that’s just not something that commonly happens in Dubai.

In Dubai, you can have a bunch of coriander, or a can of soda delivered to your doorstep in under 15 minutes without talking to a person, all through an app. As an introvert, the idea of spending precious minutes speaking on the phone to someone is my personal nightmare. Luckily, we use apps for everything here, from ordering groceries, food, and manicures to booking taxis and doctor’s appointments.

The city also boasts a superb transportation system, featuring the metro, tram, buses, boats, taxis, and cycling routes, so getting around is easy. For shorter commutes, e-bikes and scooters (available through bike-share apps like Careem) have become increasingly popular.
